Description
The Digital Modernization Sector has an opening for a Principle Site Reliability Engineer with Ansible to work in Woodlawn, MD five days a week.
Leidos is seeking a Principle Site Reliability Engineer with Ansible to be part of the mission solution and help lead digital modernization strategy. We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills: Ansible Automation, Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) Administration, Jenkins Administration, Checkmarx Administration, and Availability Monitoring / Triage (Splunk, Dynatrace).
This position will require onsite work in Woodlawn, MD five days a week.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Build, maintain, automate, ensure reliability, and implement next-generation DevSecOps platform using system/software engineering best practices and the latest technologies:
DevOps (Jenkins, Nexus Repository, Checkmarx, SonarQube, BlackDuck, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker)
Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code (Ansible, Scripting, UrbanCode Deploy)
Provide on-call support for next-generation DevSecOps platform.
Administer DevSecOps platform including installing, migrating, upgrading, deploying, troubleshooting, and configurating on Linux.
Provide subject matter expertise in one or more of these areas: automation, security, monitoring and alerting, incident response optimization, SQL tuning, Atlassian suite including plugin administration, and other CI/CD tools.
Investigate and actively support with operational team to ensure business continuity regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, networking, CI/CD pipeline, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling).
Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written or oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience.
All other duties as assigned or directed.
Education & Qualifications (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, OR a related field with 12+ years of experience OR Masters degree with 10 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted/accepted in lieu of degree.
12+ years of combined experience with system administration of Jenkins, Git (Bitbucket, GitHub, Gitlab), Checkmarx, and a DevSecOps platform.
4+ years of experience with Ansible automation.
2+ years of experience in on-call operation support role for a mission critical system.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Factors to Help You Shine (Required Qualifications):
These skills will help you succeed in this position:
Strong experience with Ansible Automation and authoring playbooks and roles for installing, maintaining, or upgrading platforms.
Solid experience using version control software such as Git including peer reviewing playbooks.
Hands-on experience administrating/maintaining DevSecOps platform via Ansible playbooks (e.g. upgrading Jenkins).
Hands-on experience administrating Checkmarx via Ansible playbooks.
Hands-on experience administrating Atlassian Suite (one or more of the following: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), associated plugins, and integration.
Experience administrating an artifact repository (one or more of the following: Nexus, NXRM, JFrog Artifactory), and software quality scanning tools (one or more of the following: Checkmarx, SonarQube, Black Duck).
Solid experience triaging and monitoring complex issues, outages, and incidents as part of on-call support rotation.
Strong experience in automating tasks with scripting languages like Shell, or Python.
Solid experience with integrating/maintaining with various 3rd party CI/CD tools.
Experience analyzing, researching, maintaining, and integrating tool plugins.
Basic Linux skills supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Basic networking skills.
How to Stand Out from the Crowd (Desired Qualifications):
Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:
Experience creating complex Jira workflows, projects, service desk, custom configurations, notifications, etc.
Basic SQL skills (e.g., data manipulation, removing duplicate records).
Atlassian Suite administration certifications.
AWS cloud certifications.
Experience with AWS administration (EC2, S3, ELB, EBS/EFS/S3).
Experience with PaaS using Red Hat OpenShift.
