Administrative Assistant



The Admissions and Financial Aid Office is responsible for administering all financial aid and admission for the Doctor of Medicine degree. Information on how to apply to medical school, required courses, as well as admission and financial aid deadlines can be found on their website.


Job Summary

Performs administrative assistant support work of moderate complexity.


Essential Functions

The incumbent will be responsible for the administrative support for the department's Directors and Deans in addition to providing general office assistance to the department's staff members. This position is the front desk receptionist; provides general office assistance; and coordinates a variety of activities with heavy telephone and face to face student contact. Areas of responsibility include coordinating the medical student interview process: monitoring and managing the availability of on-line slots for interview scheduling; scheduling faculty to interview students; interacting with applicants at all points in the application process; and answers financial aid inquires and provides assistance as needed. This position orders departmental supplies and receives job/supply estimates; submits purchase orders for department; carries out assignments and makes decisions within established policies; functions within the scope of the organizational unit or at daily operations level.


Physical Effort

The essential functions of the position are communications, and the incumbent must be able to use the telephone and computer. Normal business office, generally sedentary activities.
