CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Patient Treatment
  • Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs)
  • Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnosis
  • Consult with or refer patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise
  • Diagnose and/or treat acute, chronic, and complex healthcare problems such as:
  • Illness, infections
  • High blood pressure, diabetes, influenza, and pneumonia
  • Headaches, urinary tract and upper respiratory infections, hypertension, and dermatological conditions (referring when necessary)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Degree (MD/DO)
  • 2 years of clinical medical practice in primary care preferred
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration in states where PCS does business
  • Multiple active licenses to practice in states where PCS does business
  • Maintain credentials in states where PCS does business
  • Board Certification required in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Obtained through the American Heart Association (Renewal required every two years)
  • State Controlled Substance License As needed, per state requirements
  • Obtain and maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
  • Enroll in Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS).
