• Demonstrated expertise in studio recording, digital audio workstations (DAWs), audio
signal processing, and microphone techniques.

• The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in recording a wide range of musical
styles, with a particular emphasis on classical music and ensemble recording, including
but not limited to orchestras and wind ensembles, chamber groups, and solo recitals.

• A background in innovative audio technologies, including immersive audio and spatial
sound, is desirable.

Job Summary
The School of Music at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Music Technology. We are seeking an accomplished educator and practitioner who is passionate about teaching and mentoring students in a dynamic, interdisciplinary academic setting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the launch of the new BA in Film and Sonic Art program, advancing the university’s commitment to interdisciplinary arts education.

Responsibilities
• Teach courses in areas such as audio engineering and music technology. The teaching loadxconsists of three courses per semester, with primary teaching responsibilities for courses including:
o MUS 150: Introduction to Audio Engineering
o MUS 317: Music Technology
o MUS 380: Advanced Mixing
o MUS 381: Recording Techniques and Microphone Placement
• Oversee all recording efforts for student recitals, including setup and recording processes.
• Train and manage students in studio recording, and post-production.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of an innovative curriculum for the BA in Film and Sonic Art program.
