Overview - Member Care Advocate

Join our team of caring colleagues and help us make a difference in the lives of those, specifically survivors and the brave responders, directly affected by the September 11th terrorist attacks.

As a Sedgwick Government Solutions Associate, you will work remotely in your home office and be responsible for providing high-quality customer service to members of this important program.

Member Care Advocate Responsibilities

  • Assist members with day-to-day benefits and healthcare-related questions and/or issues
  • Answer phones and respond to incoming inquiries timely and compassionately
  • Conduct member contacts related to benefit support, referral follow-up, and resource inquiries
  • Assess callers’ needs and triage to the appropriate internal team members per documented guidelines
  • Process incoming calls, voicemails, and chats from members and providers resolving their benefits-related questions and issues following guidelines and policies.
  • Complete outbound calls to members and providers scheduling a variety of medical services per member and provider availability
  • Refer to resources and document all activities in the system(s), ensuring contacts, information gathered, and next steps are properly documented
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Member Care Advocate Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is required. An associate degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Professional certification as applicable to the line of business preferred.
  • Four (4) years of administrative and/or customer service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience working in a Call Center Environment required
  • One (1) year of experience working in the healthcare industry required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to pass credit, background, and education checks
