CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Treatment
Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs)
Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnosis
Consult with or refer patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise
Diagnose and/or treat acute, chronic, and complex healthcare problems such as:
Illness, infections
High blood pressure, diabetes, influenza, and pneumonia
Headaches, urinary tract and upper respiratory infections, hypertension, and dermatological conditions (referring when necessary)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Degree (MD/DO)
2 years of clinical medical practice in primary care preferred
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration in states where PCS does business
Multiple active licenses to practice in states where PCS does business
Maintain credentials in states where PCS does business
Board Certification required in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Obtained through the American Heart Association (Renewal required every two years)
State Controlled Substance License As needed, per state requirements
Obtain and maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
Enroll in Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS).
This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management.Must be able to pass a federal background check.
