Overview
The fellow will gain operative experience in all aspects of Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery and is expected to have ample experience in craniofacial trauma and pertinent microvascular surgery. One to two days a week will be spent in the outpatient setting seeing patients in the different multidisciplinary clinics as defined above. The fellow is required to attend the weekly Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery teaching conference as well as the monthly Craniofacial conference. The fellow will present once a year at general surgery grand rounds and be expected to engage in new or ongoing research projects within the Craniofacial team. If a podium or poster presentation is accepted, the fellow will be provided the opportunity to attend one annual conference. In addition, the fellow will have the opportunity to join members of the OHSU Craniofacial team in one global health trip annually. It is expected the fellow participates in the education and training of medical students, house staff, and other providers of the various multidisciplinary teams within Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery. The fellow will take general plastic surgery call at OHSU up to but not exceeding six days/month and one weekend every two months.
M.D.; Completion or anticipated completion of ACGME accredited Plastic Surgery Residency. Board Eligibility in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Knowledge and Skills: Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize; ability to be a self-starter and organized; ability to work as a team member and also independently; must possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude; possess excellent communication skills (verbal, written and active listening); and be flexible to work all day as necessary for patient demand Monday through Friday with some weekends during assigned call shifts. Candidates must present professional demeanor at all times.
