The Installation Manager leads the activities of the Projects teams to execute the vision / direction of the service organization with a focus on delivering “best in class” service.
Within the Americas Region, manage the installation, relocation & Decommissioning of customer owned equipment while coordinating with internal technical resources, external vendors / contractors and local sites / facilities. Responsible managing a team of Project Managers and technicians for planning, organizing, securing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of assigned project goals and objectives. Duties may include ensuring that all projects run within scope, time, and budget constraints. Identifies, defines and addresses problems which are not immediately evident but typically not complex. Works independently with a team of project managers day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. Requires practical knowledge of the professional discipline, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Has general understanding of industry practices and standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage a team of Project Managers for installation, relocation, decommission and upgrades all Leidos SES products
Develop / Lead project schedules
Create and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for installation team
Manage project deliverables
Produce estimates and quotes for projects within the assigned region
Provide Basis of Estimate (BOE) inputs for bids and tenders
Develop and maintain time standards for all project work
Ensure that Projects hit expected schedules and deliverables
Works closely with the project management team to manage direct report overtime and work schedules
Responsible for the delivery of Project / installation needs and driving customer satisfaction within the region
Drive Efficiency and process improvement
Coordinate with project Stakeholders (internal & external), vendors and customers
Schedule project resources
Ensure project financial expectations / requirements are met
Drive data governance within the projects team for all entries into CRM systems used in the maintenance of customer equipment
Other duties as required
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires an Engineering degree in related field (industrial, electrical, electronic, mechanical). Equivalence achieved through comparative work and life experience is acceptable (>10 years work experience in a related electrical or mechanical field service role).
Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.
4+ years’ experience directly involved in project / program management and installation of advanced/integrated electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
Individuals shall possess excellent communications skills and have a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork. Must be responsive to all customer issues at all times. Must be willing & able to travel at short notice.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive Microsoft Project & Visio experience
Experience with airport security equipment installation projects
Ports and Borders project management experience
PMP preferred
