Leidos’ Defense Systems Land Systems Business Area is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join our growing Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) team in Huntsville, Alabama. This role will be part of the systems engineering team and will assist in configuration management and program management duties as needed. The candidate will be responsible for creating, tracking, managing system requirements and process documentation, as well as contributing to the maturation of system architecture models. As part of the integrated team, the successful candidate will be capable of executing independent projects and collaborating with a variety of teams.

Primary Responsibilities
Assist in developing and managing system and subsystem level requirements
Develop MBSE content, including structural and behavioral diagrams
Communicate with peers across multiple teams to explain facts, basic analysis, processes, and practices related to configuration management and requirements management
Implement and/or procedures to manage document creation, revision, distribution, and retention
Monitor and inspect products, processes, or services to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
Regularly monitor configuration data and system performance to identify inconsistencies or risks
Manage multiple assignments, handle changing priorities, and work independently
Able to perform in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
Author and review technical documentation
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
BS degree and 4 -8 years of prior relevant experience or MS with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
Able to estimate and plan own immediate tasks and manage their completion
Experience with system level requirements, developing and interpreting
Good oral and written communication skills, confident in technical and non-technical discussions
Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to work independently at times due to fast-paced and highly productive work environment
Must be a US Citizen, possess and maintain an active SECRET clearance
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville/ North Alabama, AL area
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of systems engineering, quality assurance, and/or configuration management
Ability to create design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation
Experience with Jira, Confluence
MagicDraw/Rhapsody/Cameo and/or other Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) modeling tools
Experience in MBSE implementation and execution
