ITT Goulds Pumps is looking for a Logistics Engineer to join their team in Seneca Falls, NY. The Logistics Engineer will report to the Manager, Business Process Improvement. In this role, you will support several shipping areas, warehouses, and other logistical processes. You will work cross-functionally with several team members, including production supervisors, QA engineers, lean team members, buyers, planners, and more. You will work to improve the processes we use to produce, transport and distribute products and services. More importantly, you will help implement a warehouse management system and other key systems to improve warehouse management.



Responsibilities

  • Spearhead large capex projects to drive improvements to supply chain and logistics processes
  • Develop business cases to gain executive approval, ensure efficient resource allocation, and align investments with strategic goals.
  • Planning, design, and optimization of supply chain systems and transportation solutions, including a warehouse management system.
  • Analyzing existing supply chain systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Assures that consumer goods and services are being distributed in a way that is most efficient and profitable, applying scientific and mathematical principles to process the distribution of consumer goods and services
  • Provides logistics technology for effective and efficient support of products, equipment, system manufacturing, or services
  • Perform and document root cause analysis.
  • Participate in Gemba walks and act on escalations by implementing engineering solutions.
  • Employ Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques to increase manufacturing capacity, productivity, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Develop and maintain standard work instructions for the various logistics areas.
  • Ability to read and create CAD models. Exposure to Creo Pro-E preferred.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics engineering, supply chain management, material science, etc. Will consider those with Associate’s with the right experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics engineering or related engineering disciplines (i.e. material science).
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience implementing warehouse management systems.
  • Must have strong knowledge of supply chain operations.
  • Project Management / Team Leadership expertise
  • Ability to effectively convey ideas and messages both formally and informally, both in speaking and in writing.
  • Delivers clear, concise, accurate, articulate and persuasive written and/or spoken messages with an ability to adapt the communication to the audience as appropriate.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English, perform simple shop math calculations, and follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Must have Lean/Six Sigma experience.
  • Familiar with Creo Pro E and/or other design software.
  • Must have general computer experience. MSOffice including Excel, Teams, Word, Power Point.
  • 3-dimensional thinking.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Creative problem solver. PDCA
  • Comfortable having responsibility and being accountable for his/her work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiar with Lean and Kaizen techniques
