About the Position
Responsible for leading the company's strategic initiatives related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. This role requires a seasoned professional to oversee the end-to-end M&A process, including market analysis, deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiations, and post-merger integration. This role will collaborate with executive leadership to identify and execute transactions that align with the company's growth objectives and long-term strategic goals.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Proven track record leading mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships, ideally within the construction, engineering, or related industries, with a strong understanding of the due diligence process and integration planning.
- Deep financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to model scenarios, assess risk, and evaluate company valuations, synergies, and long-term return on investment.
- Strong project management and stakeholder alignment capabilities, with experience navigating complex transactions involving legal, financial, operational, and cultural considerations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence executives, manage external advisors, and ensure alignment between business objectives and deal outcomes.
Day in the Life- Develops and executes the company's M&A strategy in collaboration with executive leadership to support corporate growth and diversification.
- Identifies potential acquisition or partnership opportunities that align with the company's strategic goals.
- Conducts comprehensive market and industry research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes.
- Evaluates target companies' financial performance, market positioning, and strategic fit.
- Builds and maintains relationships with investment banks, advisors, and other deal originators.
- Assesses acquisition targets and partnerships through financial modeling, valuation analysis, and risk assessment.
- Leads negotiations, including structure, terms, and pricing of deals.
- Oversees due diligence processes, coordinating cross-functional teams and external advisors.
- Prepares and presents recommendations and deal structures to the executive team and board of directors.
- Leads the planning for post-merger integration plans and ensures successful execution, addressing operational, cultural, and financial synergies.
- Monitors and reports on integration progress and deal performance.
- Provides leadership to internal M&A teams, including analysts and project managers.
- Partners with legal, finance, HR, and other departments to ensure compliance and successful implementation of M&A activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, or investment banking.
- Relevant experience in the construction or adjacent industry.
- Proven track record of leading successful M&A transactions from start to finish.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with deep knowledge of valuation techniques and methodologies.
- Exceptional negotiation and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations related to M&A transactions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high quality documentation and report preparation.
Travel- Occasional travel may be required.
