Position Title: DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Location: Headquarters Equipment Depot Inc - Houston, TX

Position Type: Full Time


Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Business Development will play a key role in driving long-term growth, identifying and executing strategic opportunities to expand the company’s market footprint in Material Handling Solutions. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally to validate and execute initiatives that drive revenue, enhance brand presence, and align with the company’s overall strategic objectives. This role requires a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who excels at navigating complex opportunities and partnerships in the Forklift and Material Handling space.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Building Relationships: Strive for Professionalism to compete to become the clients Material Handling Partner.
  • Growth Opportunity Identification: Lead the identification of new business opportunities within the Material Handling Solutions, channel growth, and entry into new markets.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy aligning with broader company goals and market trends.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, gaps in the market, and opportunities.
  • Financial Modeling & Business Case Development: Lead the creation of business cases for new initiatives, providing financial modeling, forecasts, and risk assessments to support decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other internal teams to drive execution and ensure alignment across all functions on new growth initiative.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track the performance of new partnerships and growth initiatives, reporting regularly to senior leadership on progress and impact.


Qualifications:

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or Marketing.
  • Experience: Related industry experience is preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge and abilities of Microsoft Office products
    Other Requirements:
  • Good communication, leadership and team-building skills.
  • Proven problem-solving ability. Adept at conflict resolution.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time sensitive deadlines.
  • Has the ability to interpret and understand financial statements and budgeting/forecasting.
  • Can develop, manage, motivate, and lead a diverse team.
  • Ability to communicate across all functional groups and geographic locations (One Equipment Depot mindset).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
