The Human Resources Generalist delivers both strategic and practical support across various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, compensation, and training, within a dynamic and rapidly changing office and distribution environment.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provides HR guidance to business leaders when appropriate
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the outside legal counsel as needed/required.
- Provides day-to-day guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
- Delivers training programs through electronically through LMS365, ADP, or other 3rd party platforms, as well as in person seminars.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Assists as necessary collecting and entering forms and documentation related to Workers’ Compensation accident reports, FMLA/ADA application requests, etc.
- Design and execute recruiting strategies; measure results (follow ADDIE model)
- Maintain status of openings, review applications, schedule and/or conduct interviews as assigned
- Responds to unemployment notices and represents the company in unemployment hearings and other post-employment responsibilities (e.g. verification letters)
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding Payroll and Benefits; makes changes as required
- Supports HR team in maintaining personnel files and databases in ADP Workforce Now
- Performs special projects and other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4 years' experience with at least 2 in a similar role
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred
- Experience working with ADP preferred
- Experience with high volume recruiting
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Works well with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management skills
- Thorough & working knowledge of employment laws & EEOC regulations
- Customer focused, highly responsive, results oriented, organized & thrives in a fast-paced company
- Schedule flexibility is a must (evenings/nights/weekends as needed)
