Position Summary:

The Laborer is responsible for assisting in general cleanup and maintenance for all KIC's properties. Maintain outstanding customer service and support the maintenance team.

This position is temporary and intended for summer youth hire.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning of all KIC properties, office and grounds
• Complete all work orders tasks assigned in a timely manner
• Light duty maintenance / upkeep of KIC grounds and properties
• Prep for maintenance repair work and clean up after job
• Loading and unloading materials and equipment
• Assist Maintenance Technician and Construction team with duties as assigned
• Observe all applicable safety rules and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
• Approved State of Alaska work permit if applicable (ages 14, 15, 16)

Working Environment:

This is a fast paced multi-tasking environment requiring regular attendance of 40 hours per week. The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. Employees are required to work both with a team and individually.

• Required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment
• Speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and co-workers
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and taste or smell.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 30lbs
• Vision requirements include: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
