The Operation Research SME provides strategic, technical, and programmatic advice concerning ways in which emerging capabilities in high performance scientific and visual modeling for the United States Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Analysis Center (DAC). DEVCOM/DAC is the Army’s focal point for data analysis and Modeling and Simulation (M&S) from component to force-on-force level models for the Army’s Future Force Modernization Enterprise (FFME).

• · Serves as a project officer and/or team member performing systems analysis or analytical studies to provide advice and alternative solutions.
• · Independently responsible for researching and accomplishing project assignments which typically require the formulation and development of new techniques and methods for application to software/hardware testing and analysis.
• · Investigates and analyzes current or desired performance of systems to ascertain methods by which test data may be gathered, analyzed, and utilized to evaluate performance measures.
• · Independently or as part of a development team, plans, designs, and conducts tests to gather the data necessary to conduct analyses.
• · Conducts data analysis and prepares reports which provide an assessment of performance compared to the stated requirements.
• · Briefs findings and provides recommendations on system performance based on the results obtained from data analysis.
• · Problem solutions require a high degree of originality due to factors such as advanced technology, specialized technology, and complexity of the integrated hardware/software.
• · Perform testing, documentation, and training activities associated with DAC’s Advanced Joint Effectiveness Model (AJEM) and associated tools/utilities.
• · Perform testing and documentation in support of verification and validation of Modeling and Simulation modifications associated with DAC’s modernization of battlespace capabilities to reflect enhanced nuclear weapon effects and associated phenomenology.
• · Provide strategic, technical and programmatic advice concerning ways in which emerging capabilities in high performance scientific and visual modeling techniques might be best utilized to improve or develop tools and techniques to enable DAC’s analysis mission across its core competencies.

Required:

• · A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, System or Mechanical Engineering or related field with 10 years’ experience.
• · Possess a knowledge of basic principles, theories, and methods with respect to mathematics, statistics, logic, econometrics, modeling and simulation, and computers.
• · Top Secret clearance required.
