Job Summary (Purpose):

Reporting directly to the Group Director of Marketing and Customer Growth, the Cynch Marketing Manager (PMM) is responsible for developing and executing all marketing programs and promotions for our Cynch home delivery business. The PM will have both industry and marketing knowledge to best position the Cynch product to consumers across the country. This individual will have a proven track record of effectively managing a large marketing budget and clear understanding of how to grow our Cynch business in the most cost effective manner. The PM will also be overseeing a group of marketing analysts and guiding them through day to day execution of key programs with vendor partners and marketing agencies throughout the country.

Key Characteristics:

  • Collaborative skills: As a product marketing manager you will have to collaborate with multiple teams across the business. This will often include the sales and marketing department, propane cylinder operations, Customer experience, advanced analytics and senior executives.
  • Communication skills: The ability to speak and write to a high standard is crucial. You will frequently have to present new ideas and write engaging copy for various marketing channels. This individual will also present plans to key retailers to grow our products and offerings.
  • Research skills: A crucial part of being a product marketing manager is gaining insight into customer needs and experiences. Analysis of data, surveys and customer interviews will be part of this mix and you need to be well acquainted with these techniques.
  • Dynamic and Innovative: We are looking for an innovative thinker who is comfortable bringing new ideas and innovation to our business. Our ideal candidate continually drives value with marketing activities and clearly demonstrates clear benefits from marketing investment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates and defines Cynch marketing plan that maximizes sales growth while also managing aggressive marketing budgets. This includes keeping customer acquisition cost low while also meeting our volume goals for the year.
  • Works with vendor partners and marketing agencies throughout the country in delivering impactful marketing messages and advertisements that bring new customers to our Cynch home delivery progra,.
  • Uses analytics to quickly understand and refine our marketing tactics. This includes renegotiating contracts (at-times) while also changing tactics quickly to grow our Cynch business.
  • Regularly presents business results to senior leadership that clearly and concisely outlines where we are having success and areas of improvement. Has a clear ownership of their role in successfully growing the Cynch brand.
  • Obtain insights into customers’ usage of Cynch cylinders and recommends any changes to our overall Cynch strategy.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 7+ years’ in product marketing, experienced in creating effective marketing programs
  • Excellent time management and project prioritization skills
  • Large-scale retail marketing experience
  • Consumer sales/marketing experience required
  • Experience in retail, consumer marketing, or energy/utility industries required
  • Travel limited

Education and Experience Required:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Excellent teamwork skills
