Chief Architect - AI - Military veterans preferred

Responsibilities

The Chief Architect will report directly to the CTO and work closely with the leaders of Engineering, Product Management and Cloud Operations. The Chief Architect will possess significant expertise in SaaS solutions, multi-tenant architecture, and scalability of database and application resources. Additional qualifications include expert level knowledge of AWS and exposure to other cloud providers including Azure and Google Cloud Platform. Experience delivering cost effective SaaS solutions on AWS a must. Additionally, familiarity with AI technologies and applications thereof.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead continued evolution our multi-tenant architecture. Responsible for both creating a technical vision, and for creating visibility into that solution across the R&D organization and supporting the incremental advancement of the SaaS products.

• Lead new-technology innovation initiatives, such as adding AI/GenAI based features in products.

• Estimate cost analysis for delivering against the architectural vision. Collaborate with the cloud organization for budgetary needs to support architectural evolution.

• Collaborate with engineering, cloud, and product organizations to realize the end goal of a fully micro-service based SaaS product. Ability to deliver incrementally is key.

• Lead other architects within the organization.

• Develop proofs of concept solutions that are usable starting points for engineering efforts.

• Assess the capabilities and technical aspects of products that are considered for M&A.

• Support the go-to-market teams as necessary to explain product technical underpinnings, including architecture and security.

Education / Qualifications

• 15+ years of overall engineering experience is required.

• Experience architecting a multi-tenant software solution, preferably both from the start as well as an evolutionary approach.

• Hands-on experience with a wide variety of modern software development, CI/CD and cloud infrastructure frameworks, and the ability to explain the pros and cons of each to achieve business goals.

• Expert level experience with AWS services and solution architecture. Certified AWS Architect preferred. Experience with Azure a significant plus.

• 5+ years of experience required in an architect, or engineering leadership position.

• Experience in designing and implementing highly usable software with modern Web-based and mobile UI technologies.

• Experience in designing and implementing highly scalable cloud-based solutions.

• Experience in techniques for data warehousing and analytics. Experience with Snowflake is required.

• Experience with applying AI or Generative AI technologies in B2B SaaS products.

• Experience in the compliance space (QMS, EHS, ESG, and FDA validation) a plus.

• B.S. degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related degrees.
