Echodyne is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Level I to join our team working in a dynamic environment, developing high-performance commercial radar solutions. 

Effective packaging design of radar enclosures and the accessories needed for radar operation, are essential to ensuring optimal performance of radar systems across the environmental extremes that theyre designed to meet.  As a Mechanical Engineer Level I, you will play an important role in every phase of the product lifecycle (Definition, Exploration, Architecting, Design, Development, Verification, Production, and Sustainment). In each phase you will both contribute to, and learn from, challenging problems in passive thermal management and a wide array of modal, shock and vibration requirements related to a state-of-the-art radar.  In this role, you will also draw upon the knowledge and experience gained from collaborating with other product development team members, and suppliers alike, to continue the pioneering spirit of Echodyne in bringing industry-leading, yet cost-effective, technology to the market.  

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Experience using Solidworks for mechanical design and drafting 
  • Some knowledge of the mechanical considerations of PCBA design and PCBA packaging 
  • An understanding of thermal, electrical, and environmental considerations as may be applied towards electronics enclosure design, with practical experience preferred 
  • Experience designing parts for different fabrication processes, such as CNC machining, laser cutting, 3D printing, extruding 
  • Ability to perform limited thermal, stress and modal analysis sufficient for design concept validation 
  • Ability to work design projects as part of a team, from initial concept to delivery 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or similar engineering discipline  
  • Two or more  years work experience in an engineering role 
  • Eligibility to handle export controlled data (ITAR, EAR)

The pay range for this position is $84,100 - $126,100 annually.
