Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Control Planner (Analyst, Material Planning & Control) to join our West Hartford, CT team.

Responsibilities

•Conduct and oversee all material transactions and item master updates in MRP system (JD Edwards) including material issues to work orders, part transfers, MRO portal transfer, sales order picks, inventory adjustments, inventory reclassifications, and part location changes. 
•Assist in managing all physical inventory locations and work in process throughout the facility to ensure inventory accuracy. 
•Confer with department supervisors and/or Planners to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors and/or Planners of material status.
•Utilize knowledge of customer demand to coordinate the shipment of product with Inspection, Contracts, and Shipping personnel.
•Lead weekly cycle count process which includes counting parts, data entry, running reconciliation reports, and performing root cause analysis.
•Lead and coordinate all activities for the annual physical inventory in concert with Materials and Planning Managers. 
•Conduct various inventory analyses and develop recommendations to facilitate inventory reduction, efficiency and best practices.
•Coordinate inventory transaction accuracy process improvements with Shipping/Receiving Manager.
•Develop new and revise existing standard work instructions related to inventory transaction accuracy. 
•Develop inventory metrics and provide root cause analysis as required.
•Support the investigation and resolution of manufacturing material variances.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
•2 years of ERP/MRP requirements planning experience with in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment.
•3 years of demonstrated materials management experience to include, material expediting, inventory management/control or continuous improvement experience.
•Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal and customer service skills, and be extraordinarily detail oriented and process driven. 
•Requires a high level of organizational and planning skills as well as logic skills to solve problems of a systemic nature. 
•Ability to work with associates at a variety of levels within a manufacturing environment.
•Good computer skills including advanced Excel skills; JD Edwards experience preferred. 
•Inventory Management knowledge (i.e. How to ensure accurate inventory record keeping in an ERP system, ending inventory projection/forecasting, etc.)

 

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
•Experience with Bill of Materials and Routings within a JD Edwards MRP (or comparable) system.
•Experience working within a company’s cycle count and annual physical inventory process and procedures.
•APICS certification.
