Job Summary
The Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is seeking a highly motivated, professional Research Project Manager to assist the faculty and staff of our fast-paced research center. The CCTS supports campus research professionals to ensure they are able to meet their research goals and ultimately improve the health of our communities and populations.

Since its inception in 2006, the CCTS has invested millions of dollars into research funding and trainee support at the University of Kentucky through its commitment to funding innovative, early stage translational research. The CCTS’s vision is to catalyze clinical and translational discoveries through an integrated and transformative research environment targeting improved health, with emphasis on underserved populations in Kentucky. In support of that vision, the Research Project Manager role will serve as a team member of the Center for Clinical Translational Sciences.

The Research Project Manager is responsible for:
  • Leading the development and finalization of multiple proposal and Research Performance and Progress Report (RPPR) budgets and ensures compliance with sponsor and university policy
  • Providing cradle to grave management of multiple complex-interrelated NIH CTSA awards, including:
    • UM1
    • K12 Career Development
    • T32 Predoctoral
    • T32 Postdoctoral Trainee
    • RC2 and R25 awards
  • Following all OMB, DHHS, NIH, NCATS and institutional regulations, policies and procedures
  • Developing budgets for individual units and CTSA overall
  • Completion of all external financial reporting for individual sponsored projects
  • Using discretion daily to accurately interpret intermediate principles underlying RFS, sponsor specific & federal guidelines as they relate to the reporting requirements of each award
  • Establishing & maintaining sponsor specific knowledge & expertise of various types of awards such as training & center grants, program projects & contracts and assist tracking/evaluation unit with statistical reporting required for NIH reports across all units, to include assisting with development of reporting formats and tools; provide backup support as needed.
  • Assist with reports to External Advisory Committee and NIH Annual Progress Report.

Successful candidates will have knowledge of SAP, Tableau, NIH & UK regulations, experience with Excel, financial management/reporting, organization, problem-solving, statistical expertise, interpersonal skills, and financial reporting.
