Responsibilities

The Senior Survey Project Manager is a key leadership role responsible for managing a team of project managers, overseeing large-scale and complex land survey projects, and collaborating with Market Leads and senior leadership to grow market presence. This individual serves as a subject matter expert within the surveying discipline and plays a vital role in strategic planning, client engagement, and operational efficiency.

  • Lead and manage multiple project managers and their teams across large-scale land survey projects

  • Develop project work plans, define staffing needs, and allocate resources to ensure timely and efficient project delivery

  • Oversee the preparation of scopes of work, budgets, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures

  • Implement and refine systems and operational procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency

  • Analyze performance metrics including financial data, budgets, and activity reports to evaluate progress toward goals

  • Mentor and develop professional staff to support growth, performance, and retention

  • Prepare RFQs (Requests for Qualifications) and fee proposals in support of business development efforts

  • Collaborate with Market Leads and Market Managers to formulate strategies for expanding the customer base and increasing market share

  • Deliver compelling presentations to clients and stakeholders to communicate project goals, progress, and outcomes

  • Maintain effective relationships with sub-consultants and other key business partners

  • Provide cross-functional support to other operational units as needed

  • Represent the company at industry meetings, conferences, and trade shows to strengthen visibility and foster relationships



Qualifications



  • Proven previous industry related work experience in a professional or management capacity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members
  • Ability to oversee, mentor and motivate a project team
  • Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others
  • Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large scale land survey projects
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to manage multiple registered surveyors, technicians and field crews to deliver multi-disciplinary projects
  • Demonstrated success in business development, marketing, and networking
  • Successful experience in contract negotiations, budgets, and fee estimates
  • Professional License required
