Overview
The Tax Senior will work on all aspects of the tax life cycle: tax provision, tax compliance, audit defense and tax planning. The ideal candidate is a true tax generalist and will assist with a wide variety of tax matters, including US and non-US tax provisions, Federal and State tax compliance, State tax audits, US and global tax planning and special projects. Strong writing and communication skills are critical to success in this role.
Responsibilities- Review Federal and State tax return filings for the ITT consolidated group. Solid experience in the quantitative aspects of taxation, including Permanent and Temporary book-tax differences, depreciation, tax credits, and similar other quantitative aspects.
- Prepare Federal and State tax provisions on a quarterly and yearly basis including account reconciliations, tracking of deferred tax assets and liabilities, tax attributes, tax payables and receivables.
- Prepare and review international tax provision calculations for various foreign subsidiaries.
- Respond to State audits, IDRs, desk notices, inquiries, etc.
- Assist with quarterly Federal and State tax estimates and extensions calculations. Process Federal and State and Local tax payments including providing Cash tax forecast information to Treasury team.
- Work with internal and external advisors to evaluate, interpret and implement tax planning initiatives in the Federal and State areas.
- Manage quarterly and annual Tax Controls for FAS 740 purposes including updates to UTP analysis and inventory. Run quarterly interest calculations on UTP balances. Update and maintain current and deferred tax rates in tax provision software.
- Work with field units to answer questions on tax implications of various transactions.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, with MBA or MS in taxation a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate environment
- CPA preferred, or serious candidate interested in sitting for the exam
- Analytical, forward-thinker who is organized and motivated
- Knowledge of computer applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required; experience in SAP, OneStream, TXP experience a plus.

- Technical Competence: Broad and deep knowledge of tax. Experienced with income tax reporting standards, including ASC 740, among others. A solid foundation of technical understanding in income tax concepts as well as accounting processes and systems is required. Demonstrated ability to identify and communicate complicated tax issues.
- Business/Financial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to identify and communicate complicated tax issues in terms of impact on business. Common sense approach to the development and implementation of income tax strategies and programs.
