Description:

Title: IT Project Manager (DLA J6)

Security Clearance: Secret based on T-5 background check

Job Location: Fairfax, VA (On-site)

Overview: The Project manager is a critical role and will provide management, direction, administration, clerical support, documentation, quality assurance, and leadership of the Program. The program has multiple locations with over 40 FTEs. The Project Manager will serve as the authorized point of contact with the Government Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and will provide support for the Enterprise LAN to include Northeast, Central, South, and Western regions within the Continental United States. The Project Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, interfacing with Government management personnel, staffing of all tasks, formulating, and enforcing work standards, creating personnel and project schedules, reviewing work discrepancies, and communicating Government policies, purposes, and goals to the contract team. The Project Manager shall submit evaluations and recommendations which could potentially improve operations that are out-of-scope of the current contract to the COR and/or Contracting Officer (KO) for action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all day-to-day operations for DLA LAN projects in conjunction with the regional LAN Leads
  • Manage project schedules and resources to ensure deliverables meet government schedules
  • Communicate daily with DLA Government Project Managers, Points of Contact and regional LAN Leads
  • Resolve all issues/problems, allocate resources, manage project personnel, and manage project operations/performance
  • Develop and maintain an integrated master project schedule for all DLA LAN projects
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required
  • Develop and present In-Process Review (IPR) slides on a quarterly basis for all open projects supported by this contract
  • Prepare and provide ad hoc slides for DLA management and attend meetings as required

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or BA or four (4) additional years of related experience.
  • Must have A Project Management certification (i.e., Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent, etc.) plus five (5) years relevant project management experience and 5 years of leadership experience with progressively higher responsibility in the public and/or private sector in the IT and/or consulting fields.
  • Experience supporting a DoD Combatant Command (COCOM) or agency is preferred.
  • Experience must include five (5) years of DLA technical LAN or WAN support.
  • Certifications Required
    • PMP or equivalent certification
    • DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II
    • Computing Environment: BPIPA, CCDA, CCSA, CCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCSPA, SCNA

Required Experience Performing Following Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Served as the project manager for a large, complex contract task order (or a group of task orders affecting the same system)
  • Assisted the Program Manager in working with the Government Contracting Officer (KO), the task order-level Task Order Managers, Government management personnel and customer agency representatives.
  • Managed delivery and performance of government contract ask orders
  • Reviewed and approved technical solutions
  • Developed and managed program/task order scheduling.
