Basic Purpose
Leads, motivates, and directs the efforts of the T&D Projects team to develop and execute large utility projects including transmission lines, substations, distribution lines and communications. Ensures that the scope of transmission line, substation, distribution line and communication project work managed is completed in a safe, efficient, economical, and timely manner. Integrates utility business planning, strategic opportunities, and business relationships to grow distribution business via regional business plans. Directs the negotiation and administration of contracts with large retail customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Directs the Transmission and Distribution Projects team including project managers, project development and construction managers/administrators to develop and execute large utility projects. Directs the development and implementation of tools, policies and procedures needed to measure and track project costs, schedules, and quality variances.
Collaborates with peers leading Land Services, Engineering, Environmental Services, Business Development, Supply Chain and Operations, ensuring that projects are sequenced and scheduled in a way that workforce utilization is maximized, and company costs are minimized to the very extent possible.
Develops, negotiates, executes and administers contracts with customers for new load additions. Provides customer forecast for the ten (10) year business plan.
Serves as the primary contact for new retail customer requests for connection to the distribution and transmission grid.
Provides strategic direction and leadership to build and enhance large customer relationships and ensure customer loyalty. Responsible for establishing new customer relationships and nurturing existing customer relationships. Develops win-win solutions for our largest customers.
Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and rules as set by the Public Service Commission of Nevada. Leads the development of new tariffs, internal policies and procedures in support of large retail service.
Develops and executes negotiation plans for business arrangements involving contract interpretation, dispute resolution, Rule No. 9 administration and other rules and/or regulations related to customer retail service.
Facilitates corporate wide participation and support of growth strategies and customer programs by developing and maintaining working relationships with other divisions/departments, trade allies, and community organizations. Participates in applicable regulatory forums to promote and support retail customer load growth.
Provides written and oral testimony in support of applicable legal, legislative, and regulatory proceedings.
Monitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in a business administration, engineering, or related field and 10 years of related experience with 5 years being in management.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 14 years of related experience with 5 years being in management.

Annual Salary: $157,800 (Min) to $185,700 (Mid); Up to 20% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
