Custodial Services Supervisor
The Custodial Services Supervisor performs responsible supervisory work involving the assignment and direct supervision of custodial employees in maintaining the cleanliness of buildings, offices, classrooms, fitness centers, laboratories, furnishings, and equipment, as well as building entrances and exterior walkways. The Custodial Supervisor is also responsible for training new employees in proper custodial procedures for the use of manually operated tools, equipment and cleaning supplies. Inspect custodial equipment in assigned area after each use and report problems by the end of that days shift to Custodial Services Assistant Manager and note in daily log. Daily progress inspection of all special project assignments by the end of shift and note in daily log. Required to perform daily quality assurance inspections in the assigned areas of their employees. To denote and resolve any cleaning issues within 24 hours and to apply measures to prevent cleaning deficiencies from occurring. Monitor and interpret union contract. Initiates letters of reprimand and makes formal recommendations for disciplinary action. Responds to formal and informal employee grievances and prepares written responses. Documents performance provides performance feedback and formally evaluates the work of the employee; provides reward and recognition for proper and efficient performance. Required to daily verify the assignment is special event set-ups/breakdowns and to verify that the venues are clean and ready for use. Informs staff of relevant business issues and their impact on the organization.
Inspects custodial services in assigned areas, ensures compliance with standards, and resolves issues. Supervises team, organizes daily assignments, and oversees training. Communicates to determine needs and requests for special events. Determines, orders, and evaluates equipment and supplies. Submits and maintains forms, records, and requests.
Must have a valid PA driver's license. Must be mobile enough to travel to all assigned facilities on campus. Must have ability to communicate by means of both verbal and non-verbal communication. Must have good analytical skills. Knowledge of custodial policies and procedures.
