Job Summary:

The Consumer Lending Associate provides consumer lending support to all regional retail markets/departments, including Private Banking. This support consists of loan document preparation, underwriting, denials, regulatory oversight, property evaluations and appraisal reviews.

Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:

  • Prepares consumer loan documents for all markets and underwrites and approves applications for credit presented by lenders within the loan approval authority assigned
  • Provides direction to the Retail Branches regarding all required disclosures for Consumer Lending and also provides direction for lenders in underwriting and compliance
  • Handles loan requests for document preparation, timely closings and boarding
  • Reviews lending decisions for denials, and prepares and mails Adverse Action Notices to applicants and maintains a record on denial log
  • Obtains and reviews Title Certificates, Attorney Opinions, appraisals, and Flood Determination reports to determine BT collateral position is secure on consumer loans
  • Reviews appraisal reports to determine that comparisons provided by appraiser are reasonable and justified
  • Completes Property Evaluation Forms to establish values on real estate collateral
  • Provides back up support to the Consumer Lending Specialist(s) for Laser Pro Systems Administrator functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least three years of relevant accumulated experience required
  • At least six to twelve months of experience preparing and/or reviewing appropriate loan documentation desired
  • At least one year of experience in consumer lending underwriting desired

Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of consumer and real estate loan documentation
  • Understanding of Consumer Lending and relevant regulations
  • Knowledge of transaction processing (Laser Pro System helpful)
  • Knowledge of the FIS Host System is helpful
  • Knowledge of the Info Access System is helpful

Hiring Salary Range

The hiring range below reflects targeted base salary. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s prior related experience & education and will be finalized at the time of offer. In addition to base salary, most positions are also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program. Select positions may also be eligible to earn incentives and/or commissions. Hiring Salary Range: $23.50 - $27.50 (Annualized at 40 hours per week: $48,880 - $57,200).
