We are currently hiring an experienced Senior Project Engineer located in Santa Monica, CA. This opportunity will have you working within our Education project sector. The Education team is a prime consultant to multiple school districts in the country and provides services to K-12 as well as higher education institutions nationally. You will be teaming with project, program, and client leadership to provide premier educational facilities for our nation’s youth and adults seeking to better themselves through learning.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides technical and engineering support to the client's team including Project Managers and Construction Managers.
Coordinates with Architect for timely and accurate responses to requests for information.
Responsible for the maintenance and distribution of current contract plans and specifications.
Makes field checks on construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration addition or repair projects to determine compliance with job specifications, plans, and Division of the State Architect (DSA) Requirements.
Documents progress of construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration addition or repair projects, logging photographs, daily project reports and notes as required.
Assists in preparing written materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, and guidelines.
Logs and tracks status of project change order proposals, field orders, and approved change orders.
Maintains project files and record drawings.
Logs and reviews submittals for conformance to plans and specifications.
Assists in coordinating and recording minutes of meetings with project stakeholders.
Assists in review of submittal procedures, RFI’s and monthly invoices.
Other duties as assigned.
Attendance at work during normal business hours.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Experience with design & bid formulation and project phase scheduling.
Experience with the Addenda and Bid process.
Ability to facilitate site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
Ability to communicate with various stakeholders, internal and external to the company.
Ability to read blueprints.
Utilize effective written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Education: BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field required.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar or equivalent position involved in project or construction management of commercial and/or public works or educational facility construction projects. Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design process preferred.
