Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our dynamic team. The Machinist will be responsible for the precision machining of components used in RF connectors, ensuring they meet the stringent requirements for defense and space applications. This role requires an individual with a strong understanding of CNC machining, manual machining, and inspection processes, as well as experience working with materials that can withstand extreme conditions. 



Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines, manual lathes, mills, and grinders to manufacture precision parts for RF connectors. 
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to accurately machine components within specified tolerances. 
  • Conduct inspections using various measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) to ensure parts meet dimensional and functional specifications. 
  • Work with a variety of metals and exotic materials, including high-strength alloys, stainless steel, and other aerospace-grade materials. 
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure machining processes align with design requirements for performance in harsh environments. 
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machining equipment to ensure operational efficiency. 
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards, including conducting in-process inspections and maintaining detailed production records. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety protocols and procedures. 
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of machining processes to increase productivity and reduce waste. 
  • Adheres to all safety directives/requirements within the area and facility (i.e., Personal Protective Equipment) and fully participates in all 6S activities and daily clean-up. 
  • Other duties as directed by Management. 


Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or training in machining preferred (e.g., CNC programming, precision machining). 
  • Proven experience in a precision machining environment, preferably in the defense, aerospace, or RF industries. 
  • Proficiency in operating CNC machines, manual machining equipment (screw machines, L12, L07, etc.), and working with CAD/CAM software. 
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and ability to interpret complex technical drawings. 
  • Experience with precision measurement tools and equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and CMM.  
  • Ability to work with high-performance materials, including stainless steel, titanium, and other advanced alloys. 
  • Knowledge of RF connectors, high-bandwidth components, and the specific demands of harsh environment applications is a plus. 
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, defect-free components. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines. 
  • Ability to multi-task and follow detailed instructions 
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds throughout the day 
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements 
  • Familiarity with machining of various materials 
  • Demonstrated teamwork to include knowledge of Self-Managed teams is a plus 
  • Computer programming experience is a plus
