JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will be responsible for improving the effectiveness of the workforce by developing and implementing process improvement projects in operations and developing standard processing procedures in the plant. This role includes the use of structured problem solving and statistical process improvement methodologies. Contributes to and leads small project teams to ensure the successful completion of team objectives.

Additional Information:

Days Monday - Friday flexibility to cover off shifts

Travel: 5%

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collects and analyzes data, justify procedural changes or process modifications, and established operating procedures for the plant throughout the life of continuous improvement projects.
  • Optimizes processes to attain lower manufacturing costs, increased productivity, and reduced cycle times
  • Find solutions to problems areas in existing operational procedures
  • Leads tactical site-level projects. Contributes to regional & divisional projects
  • Assist management team in the execution and completion of CIP Projects
  • Selects approach, designs, executes, analyzes experiments and applies results in solution of complex problems.
  • Displays understanding of processes by which results are produced
  • Identify Improvement Opportunities in existing manufacturing operations
  • Identifies training needs and develops training and standard operating procedures for employees to ensure effective use of continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Identifying/communicating/overcoming obstacles that may prohibit meeting production requirements.
  • Promoting a clean/safe workplace
  • Find solutions to problems areas in existing operational procedures
  • Contributes to project teams to ensure the successful completion of team objectives
  • Contributes to and lead project teams to ensure the successful completion of team objectives
  • Improve process procedures by partnering with operating employees in various departments to collect and analyze and implement results via training or capital expenditure recommendations.
  • Identify procedural changes to improve manufacturing efficiencies
  • Ability to trouble shoot and resolves complex problems, contributes to development of new equipment/processes and maintenance/improvement of existing equipment /processes.
  • Generates sound data and conclusions, suggests improvements in testing, processes, product line maintenance. Capable of implementation with moderate supervision
  • Increasingly manages own work through planning, project execution, analysis, documentation, and application of results.
  • Identifies training needs and develops training and standard operating procedures for employees to ensure effective use of continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Conducts safety audits and observations throughout the CIP’s, to ensure safe practices are not sacrificed by procedural changes or process modifications.
  • Utilizing SHW control and quality systems to maximum benefit
  • Applies technical expertise. Recognizes importance of internal and external customers. Capable of documenting and communicating with others as required.
  • Applies technical expertise, problem-solving/decision making skills. Develops own project plans and utilizes assigned resource requirements.
  • Can seek out and supporting cross-functional teams within PCD. Understands PCD resources, protocol, and where to go to get assistance.
  • Follows all safety processes and procedures
  • Active participant with plant Gemba walks
  • Ability to meet with and communicate productively with site team and contractors.
  • Utilize green belt certification with daily plant tasks
  • Gain a working understanding of site supporting utilities (steam, compressed air and chilled water, etc)
  • Ability to work with various key business systems within finance, capital management, maintenance, data acquisitions and CI software.
  • Understand product make up and quality process parameters with ability to articulate opportunities to improve quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher or at least four (4) years of work experience in engineering
  • Must have at least two (2) year of work experience in a manufacturing, distribution, operations function
  • Must have at least two (2) years of work experience in an engineering function
  • Must have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering
  • Have at least three (3) years of work experience in an engineering function
  • Have Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.)
  • Have experience with process controls systems
