Are you an experienced Superintendent with a passion for managing large-scale industrial concrete projects? Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction (RLW) is seeking a dedicated Superintendent to oversee and manage complex industrial concrete projects, specifically large concrete water tanks and wastewater treatment plants.

About the Role:

As a Superintendent at RLW, you will be responsible for directing the daily activities of workers on industrial concrete projects ranging in value from $0 to $5 million. You will lead these projects through planning, coordination, and execution, either directly or through subordinate supervisors, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency are upheld at every stage.

Position_Description :
  • Read, understand, interpret, and enforce safety policies and practices.
  • Read and understand plans, specifications and local building codes.
  • Schedules and documents all required inspections, quality testing, or other compliance requirements.
  • Comply with and document environmental permits and inspections.
  • Completes daily reports such as units complete, safety reports, EEO meetings and weekly unit cost worksheets.
  • Read and understand global project schedules and generate two-week construction schedules weekly.
  • Schedule and order materials, inspections and manpower in order to meet project schedules and specifications.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  • Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.
  • Track delivery, use and completion of rentals on the job.
  • Complete regular performance reviews for employees under his/her direction in a complete and timely manner. Ensures the employee understands the review, signs the review form and is provided a copy for his/her records.
  • Confers with personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within work force.
  • Attend monthly Superintendent meetings and participate actively.


Position Requirements :
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience in industrial concrete, specifically overseeing large concrete water tanks and wastewater treatment plants.
  • At least 10 years of experience and expertise in all phases of commercial concrete construction, including but not limited to footings, foundations, slabs on grade, and columns.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience reading blueprints and specifications for industrial builds, as well as commercial concrete footings and foundation projects.
  • Education: Four or more years of related experience and/or training; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in performing all essential duties and responsibilities at the Rough Carpenter Level III.
