We’re looking for a collaborative and adaptable Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting, to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in the monthly financial close process and partner closely with the VP, Corporate Controller & Treasurer to evaluate financial results and support ongoing transactional accounting responsibilities. This is a hands-on role with leadership exposure, ideal for someone with a strong foundation in both public and industry accounting who thrives in both strategic and tactical work.

In This Role You Will:

  • Oversee the monthly financial statement close process, ensuring complete performance of monthly reconciliations across the entire accounting function.
  • Management of the Company’s accounting policies with respect to cash, prepaid expense, A/P, and Accrued Liabilities accounting. Primary reviewer of related reconciliations.
  • Oversight of the Company’s Royalty accounting policies, processes, and systems in coordination with our product content teams.
  • Oversight of inventory accounting policies, including cost standard management and receipt/shipment transaction reviews during the sales team's busy seasons.
  • Responsible for the general ledger and chart of accounts. Review account roll-ups and classification to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal reporting requirements.
  • Support the treasury accounting process, including monitoring cash balance and forecasting; shared support of debt and bank compliance reporting in connection with other senior members of the team.
  • Partner with IT on the implementation of system enhancements and reporting initiatives regarding monthly financial statement close, royalties, and vendor master data management. Proactively identify gaps in the current system and partner with IT to develop solutions.
  • Serve as the Company’s point person for best practices on reconciliation, GL structure, and a supporting role in FP&A procedures (Q&A, variances to expectation, etc.)
  • Support of the year-end audit process as needed.

  • Collaboration and Team Building: Work closely with other departments to integrate financial strategies. Foster a collaborative work environment and mentor future financial leaders.
  • Technological Proficiency: Be adept with financial software, data analytics tools, and emerging technologies. Leverage digital transformation trends to improve financial processes.

Credentials and Experience:

  • 8+ years of hands-on accounting experience, with strong knowledge of general ledger and consolidations accounting.
  • Experience with managing, coaching & developing subordinate accounting team members, including those supporting month-end close & reporting processes.
  • Experience & comfort with problem solving and working independently – elevating issues where appropriate to do so.
  • Extensive experience with ERP systems – experience with Sage Intaact or other cloud-based ERP is a plus.
  • Use of FloQast close management software is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word.
  • Experience with account reconciliation tools and month-end close discipline is a distinguishing characteristic.
  • Knowledge and experience with ASC 842, Leases, ASC 830, Foreign Currency Matters, ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers, and ASC 350, Intangibles - Goodwill and Other.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • CPA with public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Legal right to work in the United States
