Job Description:
As a Senior Engineer/Scientist I on the RS3 UAS Contract, you will be responsible for leading engineering and scientific efforts related to the development and implementation of advanced unmanned aerial systems (UAS) solutions. This senior-level position requires the ability to perform in-depth technical analysis, provide innovative solutions, and contribute to the overall success of UAS projects. You will collaborate closely with other engineers and scientists, receiving guidance from senior leaders while also working independently to complete assigned tasks. With your extensive experience, you will also mentor junior engineers and scientists. A Secret Clearance is required for this position to ensure you can operate securely within the contract’s parameters.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT II requirements.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related job experience, gained post-degree from an accredited institution.
  • Engineers must have received their engineering degree from an accredited program of study.
  • Scientists must have received a science degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be capable of receiving guidance from senior-level managers/engineers/scientists and working independently to accomplish assigned tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering or scientific tasks to support the RS3 UAS Contract, ensuring tasks are completed to meet technical standards and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to design, develop, and implement UAS solutions.
  • Perform complex technical analysis, assessments, and evaluations in the engineering or scientific areas of the UAS program.
  • Mentor junior engineers and scientists, assisting in their technical growth and development.
  • Provide leadership and contribute to the technical direction of the project, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in engineering or scientific principles, methodologies, and practices related to UAS.
  • Ability to work independently and lead technical tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in performing high-level technical analysis, system evaluations, and contributing to large-scale projects.
  • Active DoD 8570.01-M IAT II certification preferred.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance.
