Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and controls.
- Maintains and operates electronic control systems, calibrates, repairs, and installs components of building control management systems.
- Reading blue prints and schematics to determine location, size, capacity, and type of component needed to repair equipment and/or systems.
- Maintains and operates electronic controls systems for HVAC equipment (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning) and refrigeration.
- Inspects and tests building control management systems for proper operation.
- Responds to problems with HVAC systems by troubleshooting and taking appropriate action to correct.
- Maintains controls for distribution systems of high temperature hot water, natural gas, and domestic water.
- Checks, modifies, repairs, tests, and troubleshoots the Johnson Controls building control management system.
- Transports tools and materials to various work sites using a University vehicle.
- Moves items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Climbs ladders to access work areas.
- Works in closed areas of extreme hot or cold temperatures.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Related duties as required.
