Are you passionate about creating fair and competitive compensation programs? Join the Straumann Total Rewards team as a Compensation Specialist! In this pivotal role, you'll develop, implement, and manage compensation strategies that attract and retain top talent across the US and Canada. Your analytical skills will be key in evaluating job roles, analyzing salary data, and supporting various compensation initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Design and Administer Compensation Programs: Manage base pay, sales incentives, variable pay, and other rewards programs to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Conduct Job Evaluations: Perform salary benchmarking and job evaluations to maintain equitable pay practices.
  • Develop Salary Structures: Assist in creating and maintaining salary structures and pay bands.
  • Lead Annual Compensation Reviews: Plan and execute annual compensation review activities, providing training to HR People Partners and managers.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local compensation regulations in the US and provincial regulations in Canada.
  • Partner with Leadership: Collaborate with HR and leadership to guide pay-related decisions.
  • Global Job Architecture: Support the development and implementation of a global job and pay architecture system.
  • Compensation Planning: Assist HR People Partners and Managers in salary reviews, promotions, and market adjustments.
  • Analyze Trends: Monitor compensation trends and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Data Management: Maintain compensation data and reporting in SuccessFactors and other systems.
  • Participate in Global Projects: Engage in global compensation projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with Benefits Team: Work with Total Rewards colleagues to ensure alignment of compensation and benefits.

  • Hybrid Model: Enjoy a balanced work-life with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years in compensation, HR, or related fields.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
    • Deep knowledge of US and Canadian compensation laws and regulations.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience with HRIS, preferably SAP SuccessFactors.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Familiarity with Mercer’s International Position Evaluation methodology.
    • Experience with salary survey tools like Willis Towers Watson, Radford, etc.
    • Understanding of the Canadian compensation market.
    • Knowledge of AI applications in compensation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications (Preferred): CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or similar HR certification.
