Health Data Manager
Health Sciences IT (HSIT) is seeking a dynamic professional who assists study teams with clinical, claims, or administrative research data. The HSIT Research team provides support for the six schools of the health sciences. As such, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with research teams and their Principal Investigators (PIs) to provide datasets for analysis based on study team requirements to answer their research questions.
The health data manager will become an expert with various datasets which include EHR, CMS Claims and administrative datasets to answer research questions in support of study teams. The data manager will be responsible for ETL pipelines, documentation, data loads, light analysis, data metrics and summaries, data extraction/views, and quality assurance. They will work with small datasets ranging from 500 MB to multiple TB data lakes. They must know how to optimize queries and consider costs when working in the cloud.
The ideal candidate must have experience using SQL Server as well as writing T-SQL. They will need experience using ADS/Synapse/Data Factory/SSDT and working in Python or R. . The incumbent must have excellent documentation skills and be open to learning new technologies. Familiarity with AWS and Azure is preferred. Master’s degree or a bachelor's degree with associated experience are required.
Oversees large, complex data sets and utilizes advanced programming methods and statistical software for raw data extraction and aggregation, statistical analysis, and document programming to create analytic data files. Creates statistical reports; assists with manuscripts, grants, and regulatory submissions. Maintains data infrastructure and tracks data assets. Adheres to all protocols.

Generally sedentary desk work with computer-keyboard-video phone other than traveling to other buildings on campus for meetings/events on occasion. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
