Overview

The Program Manager of Quality Improvement and Infection Prevention & Control is responsible for the effective direction, management and operation of the School of Dentistry program for infection prevention and control, including education of staff, faculty, dental students and residents. This position consults and collaborates with OHSU Health Infection Prevention and Control. This position also directs and manages the School of Dentistry's Quality Assurance and Improvement program for the DMD clinical areas. The Quality Assurance and Improvement program includes oversight, direction, and management of patient and student unusual occurrences reporting, root cause analysis conduct and reporting, medical emergency services and clinical environmental materials management within the SOD.

 

The position oversees the purchase of emergency supplies and the education and training of employees, students and residents in the management of emergency services. The position manages pharmaceuticals used for sedation within advanced specialty clinics and oversees DEA registration and reporting for the SOD.

 

This position may provide additional services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. 



Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, dental hygiene, microbiology, biology, or a related field and 5 years of experience, 2 years of management experience
  • Experience in teaching, assessment of student learning, and program evaluation
  • Two years of experience with quality assurance or improvement, infection prevention & control, and safety programs in a healthcare setting
  • Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive
  • Healthcare electronic records experience
  • Communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
  • Current BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
