Role Context
DHL Express is seeking a proactive and driven Field Sales Executive with a solid understanding of logistics and freight forwarding to join our high-performing sales team. This role is responsible for acquiring new business, managing a portfolio of SME and mid-tier customers, and driving revenue growth across our Express and Freight services.
Key Responsibilities:
New Business Development:
Identify and engage prospective clients to generate new business opportunities.
Promote DHL Express and Freight Forwarding services by understanding client supply chain needs and providing tailored solutions.
Conduct face-to-face meetings and client visits to present proposals and close sales.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of customers within an assigned territory.
Provide exceptional service support, resolve customer issues, and ensure client retention and satisfaction.
Sales Strategy Execution:
Develop and implement territory sales plans in alignment with overall sales strategy.
Actively contribute to marketing campaigns, trade events, and product launches.
Collaboration:
Work closely with DHL operations, customer service, and DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) teams to ensure service excellence.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to provide integrated Express and Freight solutions.
Reporting & CRM:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, visit reports, and opportunity tracking using CRM tools (Comet and Stellar).
Monitor sales performance and pipeline against targets, and provide timely updates to management.
Key Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Logistics, or a related discipline.
Relevant certifications in logistics, freight forwarding, or sales are advantageous.
Experience:
Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in field sales, preferably in logistics, express delivery, or freight forwarding.
Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a competitive B2B environment.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Good knowledge of international shipping, Incoterms, customs procedures, and transport modes.
Highly motivated, self-disciplined, and capable of managing time and priorities independently.
