Physical Requirements
This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; working in confined spaces; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and cuts/punctures.

Job Summary
The Ambulatory/Retail Pharmacist Clinical Staff/UKHC plays a critical role in the delivery and expansion of long-acting injectable (LAI) psychiatric services within our clinic. This pharmacist will be primarily responsible for the administration of LAI medications, ensuring safe, timely, and protocol-driven care to support patient stability and adherence. In collaboration with providers and care teams, this role will also contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the LAI clinic, helping streamline workflows, enhance patient access, and improve clinical outcomes for individuals with serious mental illness.
Primary responsibilities include administering long-acting injectable medications, managing prior authorizations to ensure timely treatment access, coordinating follow-up care, and documenting clinical interventions. The pharmacist will also provide education to patients and caregivers about their medications and work closely with interdisciplinary teams to support continuity of psychiatric care.
In addition to core duties, this role may support broader pharmacy services as needed, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and telehealth visits as part of the Pharmacist Care team. The pharmacist may also participate in operational and service-based initiatives depending on clinic needs and staffing capacity.

Strong clinical skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; a “team” mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

PharmD and completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program (or equivalent experience) preferred.
