Position Summary:
We are currently hiring a Crew Lead Janitor at our Crane Indiana Naval Base.
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Shift: Full-Time
Hours: 12pm-8pm
Salary: $18.54 + Federal Benefits
Typical Duties:
- Reports to the Project Manager (custodial).and is responsible for supervising work-related opportunities for people who lave different abilities to work with integrated teams and receive work support and development as needed.
- Assists with the supervision of employees and clients in the performance of janitorial duties and helps the crew in completing required tasks. Such as clean, sanitize and restock bathroom which includes sinks, toilets, glass & mirrors, stall walls, stainless steel, vacuuming , sweeping and mopping floors. Taking out the trash, replacing liners and cleaning receptacles as needed. .Dust and clean office areas, desks and furniture that are not cluttered. Clean windows and windowsills.
- Maintain and organize chemicals and equipment storage areas in a clean, organized and safe manner
- Assists in completing semiannual assessments and performance evaluations for the department if assigned. Ensures all safety procedures are followed and customer satisfaction while maintaining quality.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and assuring proper use of company resources. Obtain the tools needed for the job to be completed. Inform the Project Manager of any needs which cannot be satisfied with the current equipment and supplies. Advise Manager in a timely fashion as additional supplies are needed. Complete and turn in supply request sheets as needed. Maintain equipment by performing preventative and minor maintenance.
- Supervises janitors, ensuring work is performed according to the contracts statement of work, company policies and procedures. Create schedules and or task assignments for the crew daily as assigned. Communicate job expectations. Complete daily crew/building sheets and assessment forms as assigned. Report employee and customer issues to Manager and make recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
- Contributes to teamwork by training and helping co-workers, communicating needs to the Manager, and implementing feedback for improvement.
- Performs duties with a special focus on safety, quality and customer service.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is helpful but not required.
- Experience: 1+ year of janitorial experience. Supervisory experience is helpful but not required.
- Must have a Valid Drivers License.
- Background Checks: Must pass state and federal background checks, pass DCFS abuse and neglect tracking system check, pass driving background check.
- Must be at least 21 years or older for driving insurance.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow instructions
- Lifting and carrying up to 45 lbs.
- Pushing and pulling up to 45 lbs.
