Operations Manager Job Summary and Essential Responsibilities: The Operations Manager will focus on improving efficiency, managing costs, leading teams by overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of site, ensuring that business processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with strategic goals. A qualified candidate will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • In partnership with Site Manager, provide cost management for P&L, customer service, overall operational support to meet or exceed budgeted total sales, GE sales and margin objectives.
  • Streamline processes, oversee resource allocation, and implement best practices to improve productivity and reduce costs within the site.
  • Monitor the order fulfillment process from receiving material from suppliers and shipping customer orders.
    1. This includes coordinating with inventory control, managing order picking and packing, and ensuring the timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
  • Manage facilitate expenses and implement cost-saving initiatives to site meet financial objective.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) like OTD rates and work to identify bottlenecks in the fulfillment process. By analyzing these metrics, they can make process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Handle escalations related to order fulfillment issues, such as late deliveries, incorrect items, or damaged products, by working closely with the customer service team to resolve these issues quickly and to adjust warehouse processes if needed.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) like OTD rates and work to identify bottlenecks in the fulfillment process by analyzing these metrics to make process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts such as regularly assess fulfillment workflows to identify inefficiencies, implementing process improvements, automation, or lean practices to reduce lead times and improve service levels.
  • Work with carriers and logistics providers to ensure that shipments are delivered on time, manage shipping costs, and oversee processes for different types of freight (small packages, LTL, and FTL shipments), partnering with Corporate Operations Manager as needed.
  • Motivate, train and lead contingency, fulltime hourly and salaried warehouse team members to ensure optimal productivity and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Have knowledge of electrical distribution industry, current market, customers, suppliers and competitors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts; solid presentation skills.
  • 4+ yrs business experience.
  • Ability to call on upper management.
  • Analytical & problem solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Electrical product knowledge (distribution equipment, lighting, motors, controls, PLC etc.)
  • Greenbelt Certification a plus
