As a Network Architect Team Lead, the individual will manage the Network team to conduct technical tasks, network monitoring and control, technical support including troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues for all systems in the network. In this role, the hands-on Architect and Team Lead will plan, architect, configure and install networking hardware/software replacements and upgrades minimize downtime, mentor network administrators and other reporting as required. Additionally, the individual will work with other teams to develop programmatic actions and minimize security risks.

This position will require 85-90% U.S. travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and overseas the daily operations of the Network team
  • Provides day-to-day subject matter expert support for the enterprise
  • Will architect splitting a network into two in numerous environments
  • Monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources across multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools
  • Develops and maintains all networking documentation (drawings, cut sheets, configurations, and deployment plans)
  • Works with engineers and the government in support of networking related projects
  • Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance
  • Troubleshoots networking issues and outages, which may occur during non- core hours
  • Works with vendors in support of the networking issues as required
  • Ensures all networking applicable STIGs and vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated in a timely manner
  • Performs preventative maintenance services on all devices within the networking area of responsibility
  • Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in data center as well as service provider
  • Performs other tasks as required by OSC Edge and the Government contracting office

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:

  • High diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a Top-Secret personnel clearance or higher
  • Must be willing to maintain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in computer system or network engineering, and with a minimum of two (2) years of specialized experience related to the assigned task
  • 3+ years’ experience installing and configuring CISCO Switches (i.e., Series 2900, 3700, 3800, 3900, 4500, 6500. Catalyst 9000 Series Preferred)
  • 3+ years’ experience in installing and configuring CISCO routers (i.e., ASR 1000 and ISR 4000 series)
  • 3+ years’ experience installing and configuration CISCO firewalls (i.e., ASA 5500 Series)
  • Prior experience as a Network Engineer in a large government environment
  • CCNP or CCIE Preferred
  • Must have experience with Cisco routers and Catalysts switches
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio and Word
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience to include executives and high-ranking government personnel and military personnel
  • Ability to take and give direction
  • Ability to understand plans, execute them, and influence a team to follow
  • Ability to mentor and develop
  • Ability to work within a team-oriented, collaborative environment, develop strong working relationships across organizations
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
