We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team in Baton Rouge. This role is ideal for someone looking to advance their career in heavy civil construction by supporting the planning and execution of projects in Greenfield, DOT, and industrial settings.



Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Managers in overseeing all phases of project planning and execution.

• Help estimate and manage awarded work from initiation to completion (“cradle to grave”).

• Track and support the management of project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, field crews, and vendors.

• Contribute to project safety and quality programs.

• Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and communication logs.

• Participate in site visits, progress meetings, and inspections.

• Support business development and client communication as needed.

• Identify and assist with resolving project conflicts or issues.

• Use project management software and Microsoft Office tools for tracking and reporting.


Qualifications:

Required:

• 2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction or a related field.

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Passion for health and safety practices on construction sites.

• Ability to multitask and manage priorities under pressure.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Ability to work in both office and active construction environments.

• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.




Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Experience with project management software such as Procore, B2W, Viewpoint, HCSS, or Primavera.

• Familiarity with site development scopes including clearing, grading, drainage, and paving.



Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Capable of walking and working on uneven terrain at active job sites.

• Frequent sitting, standing, typing, and use of hands and arms.

• Must be comfortable working in both office and field conditions.
