Laboratory Research Technician III



Job Summary

Performs a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments such as determining experimental protocols and preparation of specimens and cultures. Prepares reports of findings subsequent to compilation and analyzation. Oversees specimen inventory. Develops documentation for publication; crafts manuscripts and grant proposals.


Essential Functions
  1. Perform, analyze and interpret mammalian cell culture and molecular biology experiments. These experiments will include, cell passaging and maintenance, western blotting, extracellular vesicle isolation, multiplex assays, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, processing of human tumor specimens and liver cells, and setup and running of single and multi-organ-on-a-chip systems.
  1. Experiments with mice. This will involve preparing cancer cells and treatments for injections as well as helping with injections, monitoring mice and end point surgeries.
  1. Strong basic mathematical skills, such as dilutions, ratios, molarity etc.
  1. Strong organization, communication and planning skills are required.

Physical Effort

This position is primarily sedentary. However, there will be some walking between collaborating laboratories.
