The University of Pittsburgh School of Law is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to co-teach the following course during the Fall 2025 semester.

LAW 5407 – TRIAL ADVOCACY – 2 credits – Fall 2024

This course will be co-taught with the Hon. Beth Lazzara in her chambers downtown. This course is devoted to the art of presentation and persuasion in the courtroom. Students will be engaged in preparation for and performance of all basic phases of a typical trial, including jury selection, opening statements, direct examination, cross-examination, techniques for introducing evidence, closing arguments, etc. Emphasis will be on the actual performance of mock problems in a true courtroom setting, as well as the instructor's critique of those performances. Grading will be based on class performance as well as participation in critique sessions.

Salary: $2,500

Required Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree
