SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Systems Engineer III.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: A local Defense Contractor is looking for Systems Engineers. As a SystemsEngineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, andmaintaining the training system to ensure optimal performance and effectivenessfor naval personnel and perform various tasks across multiple systems’ life cycles including requirements decomposition/traceability, interface design, risk management, technical reviews, prototyping, and test/fielding support.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaboratewith a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and implement astate-of-the-art training system for Navy surface ships.
  • Analyze and understand Navy training requirements to ensure the system meetsoperational needs effectively.
  • Develop technical approaches to achieve desired capabilities and ensurerealistic training scenarios.
  • Develop system architecture and design specifications to integrate softwareand hardware components seamlessly into the shipboard training and readinesssystems.
  • Conduct assessments measuring technical progress and effectiveness of plans inmeeting requirements.
  • Leverage use ofCommercial-off-the-Shelf/Government-off-the-Shelf/Non-Developmental Items(COTS/GOTS/NDI) to support development efforts.
  • Perform Analysis of Alternatives to assess alternative options for designdecisions.
  • Design mechanisms to ensure a cybersecurity resilient system.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during systemdeployment, test, and training exercises for multiple platforms at variouslabs, sites, and shipboard locations.
  • Stay current with advancements in technology, Navy training methodologies, andindustry best practices to continuously improve the training system.
  • Lead or attend Technical Interchange Meetings, Integrated Product Teams, andWorking Groups.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Systems,Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.

Experience: Ten(10) years of full-time professional experience in systems engineering, withtwo (2) of the years being full-time experience at the system level in any ofthe following areas: requirements definition, system design parameters,concepts operation, risk assessment, productivity studies/analyses, performanceanalyses, test and evaluation, post-delivery support of COE or EW Systems.

Three(3) years of full-time professional experience in each of the followingskillsets/disciplines:

  • Operating systems experience in Windows and Linux
  • Linux system administrator
  • Hardware and software configuration management of tracking bug, enhancements, requirements, risks, test results, and tasks
  • System and network security related activities to include design, implementation, configuration and enforcement of security controls on network, hardware, and software components and devices

One(1) year of full-time professional experience support of total Life-Cyclesystem design or equivalent academic background

Clearance: TS/SCI

As a requirement of employment, all employees must hold U.S. Citizenship


Location: Norfolk, VA

Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)

Clearance: Secret

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
