Description:

Riggs is seeking an HR Specialist to assist in the day-to-day Human Resource operations. This person will serve as the front-line resource for answering employees' general questions including but not limited to, human resources policies and procedures, HRIS questions, payroll, recruitment, and benefits; Will play a key role in assisting employees while addressing complex questions and/or following up to ensure employees' concerns have been addressed. This role is perfect for an HR professional who is proactive, organized, and has a passion for working and a heart for serving employees across the whole organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage, along with accounting, the end-to-end process of payroll ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Facilitates HR system transactions including terminations, pay changes, promotions, and employee data changes.
  • Partner with managers to ensure an efficient employee onboarding/offboarding experience/workflows.
  • Manage exit interviews and close the digital workflow process efficiently.
  • Maintain and update the database systems when applicable.
  • Assist employees with questions around payroll, benefits, and 401k.
  • Ensure timely compliance reporting (EEO, FMLA, etc.) and legal adherence.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation.
  • Aid employees through voluntary resignation and retirement processes. Educate exiting employees regarding their benefits, equity and final pay implications related to resignation.
  • Coordinate recognition programs, internal events, and surveys (e.g., Great Place to Work).

Training & Development:

  • Assist managers in identifying training and development tools.
  • Monitor performance review progress and ensure manager accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.

Employee Relations:

  • Continue to drive the Ideal Employee across all departments within the company.
  • Build positive relationships and function as a resource for employee questions.
  • Support wellness, safety, and culture initiatives through engaging platforms and communications.
  • Help grow and maintain a solid HR communication channel and employee engagement piece.


Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associates / Bachelor's Degree or experience equivalent
  • 2+ years' experience in Human Resources, or related skills.
  • Proficient HRIS knowledge, with the ability to quickly learn new or similar computer applications.
  • Ability to be flexible, a team player, and interface professionally with all levels of employees, including taking personal responsibility for employee engagement, providing clear explanations, and making an extra effort to satisfy employee needs.
  • Team-player; always open to offering innovative and constructive ideas to continue our team's success, processes, and efficiency.
  • Excellent organization, communication verbal and written, and critical thinking skills.
  • High level of professionalism, especially in maintaining discretion in confidential situations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite or related software.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Standing, walking and meeting activities are required frequently throughout the workday. Employee must be able to process paperwork and utilize office equipment (including computer, phone, etc.). A large portion of the day is spent communicating orally in person and by phone. Normal sight or corrected vision is required to read documents and use standard computer equipment and programs.
