Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership
o Develop and support strategic planning for the direction and control of all quality assurance activities using both automated and manual strategies and technologies.
o Ensure that product quality assurance is focused on meeting and exceeding the customer requirements.
• Manage People
o Define job descriptions and career paths for team members.
o Engage and collaborate with team members to facilitate professional development and career advancement in alignment with strategic goals.
o Set, document, and communicate goals for team members.
o Monitor performance against job description and goals.
o Continuously assess performance and communicate assessment with team members.
o Formallly document and communicate performance per corporate Employee Engagement policies.
o Act on employee performance through compensation adjustments, promotions, performance improvement plans, etc.
o Recruit for, interview, and managing hiring for open positions on your team.
• Manage Process
o Ensure implementation and refinement as required of formal process to support the quality assurance / quality control procedures.
o Engage with quality related activities such as ISO audits, customer audits, training, etc.
o Work closely with managers and leads to supervise and manage quality assurance teams to ensure quality processes are followed.
o Hire and direct staff to acquire necessary resources to meet scheduled commitments.
o Motivate staff and provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, recognizing the role as that of both manager and support resource/mentor.
o Implement continuous monitoring and improvement for quality assurance activities.
o Authorize product release.

Education / Qualifications

• BS in Computer Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related degree.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering management / leadership
• “Out of the box thinker” must be key driver delivering against the product’s roadmap and willing to take innovative product risk while balancing the road map for on-time deliverables.
• Experience working with Behavior-Driven Development testing practices and tools.
• Knowledge/awareness of Life Sciences testing requirements including Computer Systems Validation.
• Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
• Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills.
• Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative.
• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Experience work with agile processes in Jira.
• Solid project management and facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
