Description: Job Summary

The Department of Global Health and Population (GHP) seeks to improve global health through education, research, and service from a population-based perspective. As a community of students, educators, researchers, and practitioners from around the world, GHP works together to produce powerful ideas that improve the lives and health of people everywhere. GHP is seeking to hire a project coordinator to support the operations of the Global Collaborative for Changing Diabetes in Children (GC-CDIC) funded by Novo Nordisk (phase 1). GC-CDIC phase 1 activities and research are conducted with six partner countries: Ethiopia, Guinea, Cameroon, Pakistan, India and Malaysia. This project falls within the Health Systems Innovation Lab (HSIL) under the guidance of Professor Rifat Atun, the principal investigator (PI).

Position Description

The Project Coordinator will conduct the following administrative and organizational duties and responsibilities within an agreed timeframe with the PI and research team for sponsored programs within HSIL:

1. Coordination of a monthly meeting of the Strategic Management Team with the senior Co-Investigators from the six phase 1 countries

2. Coordination of Operational Team for design of the digital registry for Type 1 Diabetes (involving Harvard Researchers, Technology Partner, and Junior Researchers from the six phase 1 countries)

3. Coordination of document gathering and help with the submissions for Data Use Agreements, Data Safety Reviews, IRB approvals

4. Assisting the PI with the development of the governance framework for the Cohort Study and meetings to inform the deliberations

5. Assisting with the development of a survey of researchers in Phase 1 countries to identify research questions and training modules for collaborating researchers

PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of related experience required; a combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Experience effectively collaborating with diverse, multinational teams a plus
  • High-level interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) and diplomacy
