Standard BioTools is seeking a talented Lab Scientist to join our Operations team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role, you will be responsible for performing various wet-lab experiments in our high-throughput Assay Service Lab.

This position will report to the Assay Service Manager, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs assay services according to established standard operation procedures (SOPs) under the highest standard of good laboratory practice

  • Demonstrate attention to detail and record-keeping in compliance with ISO9001 and GCLP standards

  • Support lab managers in overall laboratory maintenance i.e. purchasing of raw materials, document control, cleaning, monitoring and waste management

  • Organize and maintain laboratory inventory; overseeing and performing quality checks on incoming orders

  • Proactively seek out alternative strategies via literature review to address potential challenges for troubleshooting purposes

Candidate Specification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc.) in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Medical Sciences or related fields

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field, preferably in a commercial biotech or pharma environment

  • Strong technical knowledge of immuno-proteomics specifically in protein microarrays, protein expression, ELISA, mass spectrometry or equivalent.

  • Experience in data analysis and visualisation tools is preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suites, in particular MS Excel

  • Strong ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and work with minimum supervision.

  • Critical independent thinking, excellent prioritisation of tasks, good team player, problem-solving attitude, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills are favourable
