Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary:

The Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems (VCRWS) is hiring student research assistants to work on a variety of water resources projects in the Stormwater Quality Lab for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Center collects and analyzes stormwater samples from field sites both on and off campus. The student research assistant would complete lab work to support stormwater sampling. Laboratory work includes acid-washing glassware, maintaining a safe and clean lab, preparing samples for analysis, and preparing reagents for instrumentation. Student helpers will also assistant the graduate students working on their research projects as needed.

Requirements:

Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions. Able to work well both independently and as part of a team. Has critical thinking skills in order to work safely in the lab. Science or Engineering major preferred, but not required. Previous college level laboratory experience required (for example, general chemistry laboratory course is acceptable). Must be 18 years of age or older.

Additional Information:

Position can start August 25th, 2025 (pending HR on-boarding).

Physical Demands Summary:

Must be willing to complete repetitive tasks in the lab and stand for extended periods of time. Must be willing to safely work around hazardous chemicals and use proper PPE.

Wage Rate:$15/hour
